Hub Azul Leixões I is a scientific infrastructure located in the harbour area, dedicated to testing, developing and validating ocean technologies in a real environment.

Its location brings research closer to the operational conditions of the sea and the port sector, creating a relevant context for testing solutions linked to the climate and digital transition.

The hub also supports the development of technologies for monitoring the marine environment, contributing to better ecosystem management and protecting the health of the oceans.

LOCATION

The central structure of the Leixões Blue Hub will be installed at Pole 12 of the Port of Leixões logistics platform (Pole 2). The Northern Blue Biobank, an integral part of the HAL, will be located at CIIMAR, at the Port of Leixões Cruise Terminal in Matosinhos.
