This edition of the Blue Compass – Investment Trends Monitor analyses venture capital activity in the Blue Economy during the Q3 2025, highlighting where capital is being concentrated, which sectors remain dynamic, and which technologies are shaping the next phase of ocean innovation.
This quarter, the report points to a rebalancing of investment following the strong growth recorded in Q1, with the Bluetech & Ocean Observation sector remaining the most heavily funded, followed by Shipping & Ports, Aquaculture and Environmental Protection & Regeneration.
The report also examines the sector of Shipbuilding & Refitting, named ‘Sector of the Quarter’, where investment is increasingly focused on clean propulsion, vessel efficiency, digital optimisation and the transition of the existing fleet to lower-emission operations.
