    • The Municipality of Oeiras, in collaboration with Fórum Oceano, launched the Oeiras Mar 2030 Programme, a strategy to position Oeiras as a centre for innovation in the blue economy. The presentation, which took place at the Hosted By Session - OEIRAS BLUETECH VALLEY - IGNITION SESSION, highlighted the intention to establish Bluetech Valley in Oeiras and attract partnerships and investments to strengthen the innovation infrastructure. In addition, the session demonstrated Oeiras' commitment to generating wealth through the blue economy, highlighting the creation of the Hub Azul School and the Hub Azul Oeiras | IPMA.

    • A Director-General for Maritime Policy, Marisa Lameiras da Silva, In his keynote speech, he emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in mobilising resources for blue projects. The session was attended by Gonçalo Faria, Lead Manager of Hub Azul Portugal, and international experts such as António Baldaque da Silva, from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, and Kendra MacDonald, from Canada's Ocean Supercluster. The discussion covered strategies and challenges in attracting investment to the blue economy.
  3. Trends and Investments in the Blue Economy:
    • According to Blue Economy Guide, With the support of the Hub Azul Dealroom platform, investment in the blue economy has shown robust growth, reaching $4.6 billion by 2022. However, Portugal still has significant untapped potential. Hub Azul Portugal and Fórum Oceano are focusing on five key areas to attract investment and innovation: clean ocean energy, low-carbon food, decarbonised maritime transport, ocean observation technology and environmental regeneration.
