Harnessing the power of connectivity and digital collaboration, the DEALROOM BLUE HUB has the potential to revolutionise the Blue Economy by promoting the responsible management of ocean resources, while at the same time boosting economic growth and innovation with impactful matchmaking suggestions.
With the confirmed presence of the Secretary of State for the Sea, José Maria Costa, this important event will also celebrate the signing of important collaboration protocols between Fórum Oceano and Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the Port of Lisbon Administration, Startup Portugal and Katapult Ocean, with a view to developing the DEALROOM BLUE HUB platform and the Azul Hub innovation ecosystem.

Event to present the specifications
On 31 July, at 5pm, the Port of Leixões Cruise Terminal will host the event to present and launch the tender documents for the design-build contract for the Leixões Ocean Basin Blue Hub - Pole 1.
Hub Azul Leixões - Polo I (HAL) is one of the eight hubs that make up the Hub Azul Portugal network and is the initiative of a consortium led by INESC's Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering (INESCTEC) with the participation of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), Institute for Science and Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering (INEGI Driving Science & Innovation), Fórum Oceano, the Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Port Administration (APDL) and the Matosinhos City Council (CMM).
This scientific infrastructure, specifically located in a port area, will make it possible to make up for the lack of test areas in a relevant environment in the country, strengthening the capacities for developing and testing ocean technologies in favour of a more decarbonised and sustainable blue economy in the context of the opportunities arising from the climate and digital transitions at international level.
