On 30 and 31 January, the School of Tourism and Technology of the Sea of the Polytechnic of Leiria (IPL) in Peniche was the stage for the most recent Blue Hub Network meeting. The event was attended by representatives of the network's various hubs.
During the meeting, each hub presented its project and business strategy, offering a detailed overview of its initiatives. The meeting included a series of workshops focused on knowledge sharing, innovation strategies, internationalisation and communication.
A Blue Hub Network, integrated into the Recovery and Resilience Programme (PRR), aims to promote the decarbonisation and digital transformation of the blue economy. The aim is to make this sector more competitive, cohesive, inclusive and sustainable, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the energy and digital transitions.
With a robust set of infrastructures and competences, the Blue Hub Network aims to organising innovation ecosystems at national level, exploiting synergies and complementarities between the various hubs. This endeavour aims to consolidate the blue economy as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development in Portugal.
The meeting also offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the hubs and align strategies to drive innovation and sustainability in the blue sector.
